Yom Kippur statement

Dear friends:

The organizers of this water summit sincerely apologize to Jewish allies, members of our organizations and the entire Jewish community for the fact that we scheduled this event on Yom Kippur, which many of us now understand is the holiest day of the Jewish calendar.

The organizers of the summit believe it is imperative to hold this in Flint to coincide with events unfolding this fall. The dates were selected out of necessity considering the availability of participating speakers and the venue. We regret that many of you who might have been interested will not be able to attend. We will make available to you the shared materials and video recordings of the plenary speakers, as well as options for working beyond the conference on the issues presented.

Please email us at WaterIsLifeSummit@gmail.com to indicate your inability to attend in person, and so that we may contact you to follow up in the content and work of the summit.

If you use facebook, you can also stay informed by clicking "Interested" on the Water Is LIfe: Strengthening the Great Lakes Commons page.

Thank you for your understanding and support!
